Specialty Laboratory Casework

Safe, code-compliant storage for acids, flammable liquids, vacuum pumps and other hazardous materials, built to integrate with your laboratory casework.

Specialty laboratory casework for acid and flammable storage cabinets

Every laboratory stores materials that need more than a standard cabinet. Corrosive acids, flammable solvents, vacuum pumps and lithium-ion batteries each call for storage designed for the hazard. Lab Setup America supplies specialty casework that sits in line with your base cabinets and fume hoods, together with freestanding safety cabinets for chemical rooms, prep areas and bench tops.

As an authorized distributor of ICI Scientific, we help you choose the right cabinet, size it to your layout and coordinate venting, utilities and installation.

Chemical storage

Acid Storage Cabinets

Acid storage base cabinets keep corrosive chemicals contained, ventilated and clearly identified, directly below the fume hood or work surface where they are used. They are built into the casework run, so they match the surrounding cabinets in height, depth and finish.

  • Chemical-resistant 3/16″ molded polyethylene liner with coved corners and a 2″ front lip to contain spills
  • Interior lined with 1/8″ polyethylene; full-height doors
  • Full-depth phenolic shelf resists acid attack
  • Vented: connects to the fume hood exhaust through a vent kit
  • Supplied with an ACID identification label
  • Single-door (left or right hinged) and double-door models
  • Fits in line with steel, stainless steel and other ICI Scientific casework

Fire-safe liquid storage

Flammable Storage Cabinets

Flammable storage cabinets protect solvents and other flammable or combustible liquids from fire and keep spills contained. Choose under-counter cabinets that fit in line with your casework, or suspended and mobile versions that slide under tables and work surfaces.

Key features

  • Construction meets OSHA and NFPA 30 requirements; UL listed
  • 2″ deep liquid-tight pan covers the whole cabinet floor to contain leaks and spills
  • Two opposed vents with spark screens in the back of the cabinet, plus a grounding screw
  • Labelled “FLAMMABLE – KEEP FIRE AWAY”
  • Slam-latch handle with three-point latching
  • Options: self-closing synchronized doors, and fusible-link hold-open that closes the doors automatically if the temperature outside the cabinet exceeds 165°F
  • Available as base, suspended and mobile cabinets

Equipment support

Vacuum Pump Cabinets

Vacuum pump cabinets house the pumps that serve fume hoods, rotary evaporators and other equipment, keeping noise and heat out of the lab while leaving the pump close to where it is needed.

  • Sound-deadening material lines the cabinet to reduce pump noise
  • Ventilated: connects to the fume hood exhaust through a vent kit to remove heat and pump exhaust
  • Doors with integral toe kick
  • Electrical models available for powering the pump inside the cabinet
  • Optional pump cart lets the pump roll out for service
  • Matches surrounding base cabinets in height, depth and finish

Frequently Asked Questions

Specialty casework questions.

Can an acid or flammable cabinet go under a fume hood?

Yes. Acid, flammable and vacuum pump base cabinets are made to sit under fume hoods and in line with standard base cabinets. Acid and vacuum pump cabinets connect to the hood exhaust through a vent kit.

Do flammable cabinets need to be vented?

Fire codes do not always require flammable cabinets to be vented. Each cabinet has vent openings with spark screens, so it can be vented where your safety officer or local fire authority requires it.

How much flammable liquid can one cabinet hold?

OSHA and NFPA 30 limit a single cabinet to 60 gallons of Category 1–3 flammable liquids. Local codes can set lower limits, so we size cabinets to your inventory and jurisdiction.

Can specialty cabinets match the rest of our casework?

Yes. Built-in acid, flammable and vacuum pump cabinets are available in the same heights, depths and finishes as the surrounding ICI Scientific casework.
